The cast.
Everyone he meets used to be part of him. One person is the exception — and she’s the one who found him first.
FILE 01 — FATE · Guide · Not a fragment
She was already standing there when he climbed out of the box.
Nobody knows where she came from, and she isn’t one of his missing pieces — which makes her the only person in the whole game who is simply, entirely herself. She has never explained this and shows no sign of intending to.
She sees a few seconds ahead through the orb and calls out where to go. She can spot the thing you need and cannot pick it up herself. He can grab anything at all and never knows it’s there. So they go together or nobody goes anywhere.
She is older than him, considerably sharper-tongued, and saves his life roughly once an episode without ever once bringing it up. He complains about her constantly. He would not survive a week without her and both of them know it.
02 — First meeting
She doesn’t
introduce herself.
He steps out of the box, the floor gives way, and a hand catches him by the collar. She isn’t even looking at him. She’s looking at the orb.
